"The restaurateurs who operate A Tavola have ties back to Johannesburg’s Assaggi, and that’s reason enough to get hungry. A Tavola is an unprepossessing space in the best way – open, airy and welcoming, with a deli component and open kichen (the opposite of “traditional SA” Italians: dark and red, with “bella Venezia/Roma” imagery).
