Brothers Legacy ’08 - (67% shiraz/33% cab) – [displaying complex nose, full bodied, fruity-cigar balanced flavour with complex lingering aftertaste]
Diemersdal Shiraz ’09 – [fruity, well balanced]
Engelbrecht Els Cirrus ’06 – [elegant style, full bodied but not overpowering fruit]
Glenwood Syrah ’07 – [very full bodied, meaty, lingering aftertaste]
Graham Beck The Ridge Syrah ’05 - [very intense, well balanced fruit & wood]
Hartenberg Shiraz ’05 – [lovely nose, spicy, savoury, pepperyness]
La Motte Pierneef ’07 - (70% shiraz/30% Grenache) – [full bodied, interesting wild, spicy taste, Rhone style, great aftertaste]

Waterford Auction Reserve Meditteranean Blend Shiraz ’04 – (50% shiraz, 35% Mourvédre, 10% Petit Verdot, 5% Borolo) – [dense black fruit/coffee nose, ripe fruit, soft, good finish]
Zevenwacht Z ’07 – (66% shiraz, 33% Mourvédre, 1% Viognier) – [great wine]
Luddite Shiraz ’06 – [herby, spicy, chocolate nose, balanced savoury flavour, great finish]

  1. We have some excellent shiraz in this country. What's even more inspiring is the variety and interesting blends coming through more recently. The style ranges from more traditional Rhone to full, fruity New World wines, but within these there is much to be savoured..
